The Green Slime!

I'm unsure how many of you are fans of classic Sci Fi, but one film fans have always waited for is The Green Slime

In this odd collaboration by Japan, Italy, and the United States, a huge meteor is on a collision course with earth and astronauts are sent to take care of it. But one of them carries some green slime back unknowingly, and it turns into a horrible tentacled monster, which quickly multiplies into a horde when it's discovered any form of energy causes it to replicate. A somewhat Lovecraftian plot, but it's more suited towards fans of Sci-Fi B-movies from the 50's and 60's.

Warner Brothers has announced it will be available via their Warner Archives next month. For those who don't know, the Warner Archives is a service in which you can choose a film from the list and they'll burn and mail a DVD to you. It's mostly older films they don't think would be a commercial success to release on DVD, which can be sucky if the print they use to make it with is rough. But it's the only way to get access to most of those films without buying a bootleg or foreign disc.

  1. Yay! I saw this film when it first came out and then it disappeared, seemingly forever. I used to have the theme song as one of my mental soundtracks before the advent of Walkmans, etc.
